Registry Permissions Error

Error while editing/deleting a registry entry. This is actually due to permission issues.

Steps to be followed:-

1. Right click the registry entry and select “permissions”

2. Click on Advanced button and select the “owner” tab. Select “other users or groups”. In the object name, type everyone and click on check names. Click on ok, check the box which displays “replace owner on sub containers and objects” and click “Apply”. Make sure you have everyone highlighted while clicking on “Apply”.

3. Select the Permissions tab, click on Add button and type everyone in the object name. Select check names and then click on OK. In the permission box, check the Allow box for Full control and click ok. Put a check mark in “Include inheritable permissions” and “Replace all child object permission”. Now, click on Apply, select yes on the prompt and click ok to close the box.

4. Now, you will be able to delete the registry value.
