Update error Code 8024800A

Windows Updates fails with Error Code 8024800A

The following error message occurs when the download is corrupt or the information for the following update is not available. In order to fix the following, launch cmd as administrator**, and run the following commands (hit enter after each command):-

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptsvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren c:\windows\softwareDistribution SD.old
ren c:\Windows\System32\catroot2 cr.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptsvc
net start bits
net start msiserver

Now, try installing the updates. Let us know through the comments section if there is any error message after running the commands.
