Upgrade to Windows 8 Failed

There are many issues people are facing while upgrading to Windows 8. Make sure you follow these steps before doing so:

1.     Run the upgrade assistant to check if the PC is compatible or not.
2.     Update the BIOS firmware from the manufacturer's website.
3.     Update the drivers for display adapter.
4.     Enable PAE, NX Bit for the processor from BIOS' security panel.

If the installation fails after the restart:-

1.     Run system update readiness tool.
2.     Run check disk to verify any bad sectors on hard drive. Launch cmd as admin and run : chkdsk /r
3.     You would require to restart the computer to run it.
4.     Launch cmd as admin and run "sfc /scannow"
5.     You would require to repair the Windows 7.
